About

Texas born musician, songwriter performer Bobby Gillaspy's branding of music ranges from his classical music upbringing to modern hard rock and everything in between. Musings that also include country, latin, contemporary christian, folk and industrial rock.

"Bobby's a mix....somewhere between Rachmaninoff and Rock 'n Roll with a lot of Dave Mathews in between"--Tommy Hyde, drummer for Jarhead

BACKGROUND

Born and raised in the Houston area, Bobby Gillaspy was surrounded by music from birth. Having a musical family that played everything from southern gospel to jazz, it isn't hard to see it in his playing styles.  Bobbys classical training began early with the violin and piano and continued later to the cello. As with most musicians who are introduced to rock music, Bobby began playing guitar and bass guitar as well.

Performing as well as writing/ghost writing with artists and bands had given him the impetus to start a new musical journey. ---writing for film and t.v.

LOOKING FORWARD

As Bobby Gillaspy has always enjoyed writing and working on others projects, he has recently been writing for placements for film and television.  Living in Southern Arizona he says  "You know the sunsets and views of the mountainous landscape really inspire my writing, especially during the monsoons seasons.. hence the website name."  Bobby says he's looking forward to writing and co-writing opportunities as they come, adding "you can only do so much by yourself, but combined talents and backgrounds and a good sense of humor, the opportuinies and results are so much more."

Makers Make and Bakers Bake

For those who work with me… “Makers Make and Bakers Bake” Ive said it often and heard the phrase a lot growing up within my family … (maybe its a old Scottish saying our family held onto) ..Well, anyway Its not just a saying, its an acceptance of your unique giftings….

I want to highlight the value of embracing one's craft or profession.  I use this phrase often to inspire creators and entrepreneurs and encourage them to take pride in their individual talents and contributions. You can broaden this message and I emphasize that despite what the world thinks, labels, schools or family/friends…"there are NO ‘common’ gifts!!!", meaning that each person's unique abilities should be cherished and nurtured. Combine that with the importance of individuality and self-worth, especially within the creative and entrepreneurial fields. We, as creators, artists and buisinesses need to "plug in', connect and build together and create a more healthy environment so we not only grow financially, but mental and emotional wealth as well.
